Tree mornings in a row - Landscape photography in a forest.
A blog about photography
Finally, after months of sitting inside, we were able to go away for the weekend. We, my girlfriend and myself, went to a bungalow park near the Speulderbos. For the ones that doesn’t know this forest, it’s nickname is “the forest with the dancing trees”. This is by far my favorite forest to wander in and be sort of lost for three hours and find my way back within five minutes. It’s like magic!
For the last three days we stayed in a small bungalow near this beautiful forest and for 2 morning in a row I was able to rediscover this forest. The first morning I went to the Veluwezoom (part of the national park the Veluwe), but this location is for a story another time. We went for some beautiful dutch hills, with some awesome clouds above it and some mist in the valley, but what we got was, no mist and no clouds during sunrise. We went for a walk through the valley and some forest areas and got some shots, so it wasn’t a total bust!
According to the weather apps, we should have had a lot of mist and sunshine in the forest, but as always., the weather can not be trusted. It does was it wants. The second morning, we got home with nothing. Absolutely nothing. I took some photos but these aren’t any good.
Okay, that a breath. Let’s see what the third morning is giving us.
Man, the weather app was telling us 98% change of mist. But, when we arrived, nothing.. Absolutely nothing. This would mean that we should had have mist three mornings in a row but we got none. We decided to go for a walk through the forest and make the best out of it. This way, at least we get a nice morning walk out of it, but when we went around the first corner.!
Still nothing…
Second corner? Nope. Still nothing. Now, we are discussing what we should do. Should we go back, or should we go further and see what happens? We decided to go just a bit further. And what do you think?
This is what we saw! Finally, some mist within the forest, with some beautiful back light. We got those sunrays we wanted!
It’s absolutely rewarding to get up 3 mornings in a row, to get these absolutely beautiful conditions and to be able to photograph. When we saw those light rays, we went in photog mode, taking pictures of almost everything, trying different compositions. These are some photos I came home with.
Enjoy.
